Thus far the Taylors have grown the farm businesses organically, learning as we go the demands and nuances of both the land, the country and importantly the markets available to us. We strive to be open minded and innovative.
JTRC’s innovative free-range model combines zero-energy chicken houses with rotational grazing. Birds reach 2.5 kg in 5 weeks without antibiotics, supplying local food stalls and upscale markets. With new grid power, the business is expanding to frozen poultry supply for Zanzibar and Serengeti hotels.
Weaner cattle are purchased, grass-fed, and grown out profitably, often tripling in value. We supply top abattoirs for export to the Middle East and have begun a breeding program blending Zebu, Boran, and Sussex genetics. We aim to scale to 800 head.
Partnering with 450 smallholder farmers, JTRC produces cold-pressed moringa oil. Previously exported to the UK, it is now sold locally and has been registered as a L’Oreal supplier. Infrastructure exists; the export market just needs reactivation.
